E-BikeKit Heavy-Duty 500W Direct-Drive Conversion System for Tandem Bicycles.

This system is built specifically for tandem bicycles and other high-load applications where extra durability and smooth, predictable torque are essential. The 500W direct-drive hub motor provides strong, stable output with excellent long-term reliability and no internal gears to wear out.

Who’s it for? Ideal for teams riding tandem bikes or any setup where total system weight (bike + riders + cargo) reaches or exceeds 300 lb. Designed for consistent low-end torque, thermal stability, and smooth hill-climbing, with a top speed of approximately 20 mph.

The included full-color LCD display and 48V 12FET controller enable clean, predictable power delivery with pedal-assist and throttle-on-demand options.

Compatibility

Installation

This heavy-duty tandem system installs using common bike tools and includes all essential hardware.

  • Install the rear motor wheel into standard tandem dropouts
  • Install torque arms and torque axle nuts to spec
  • Mount the controller and route wiring with matched connectors
  • Install PAS disc and sensor (left side standard)
  • Mount thumb throttle and e-brake levers
  • Securely mount the battery to the tandem frame using an appropriate rack or custom mounting plate
