This system is engineered for riders who need maximum durability and motor strength for heavier total loads. A direct-drive hub motor is the correct choice for any combined load (bike + rider + cargo) of 300 lb or more. This HD configuration pairs a heavy-duty motor with a 48V battery and is speed-limited to 20 mph to increase torque, reliability, and long-term performance.
Direct-drive motors are strong, durable, and long-lasting thanks to zero internal friction and no moving planetary gears. Unlike cheaper direct-drive hubs, this E-BikeKit motor maintains smooth rotation with minimal resistance.

Compatibility
This heavy-duty front direct-drive motor fits most adult tricycles and upright bicycles needing more torque and load capacity.
Requirements:
- Front fork dropout spacing must be 100 mm
- Fork must be steel or reinforced aluminum capable of handling motor torque
- Disc or rim brakes supported
Not Compatible With:
- Front thru-axle forks
- Suspension forks with weak dropouts
- Internal geared hubs (IGH) front wheels

Installation
This system installs using common bicycle tools and includes all necessary hardware.
- Motor wheel installs into 100 mm front dropouts
- Controller, LCD, and wiring plug together with matched connectors
- PAS sensor mounts at the crank (left side standard)
- E-brake levers replace the existing brake levers
- Torque arms must be installed and axle nuts torqued correctly
- Battery must be securely mounted using an appropriate mounting method
