Overview
This Fat-Tad–specific E-BikeKit system converts the Sun Fat-Tad CXS into a fat-tire electric tadpole trike using a rear 750W geared hub motor and a 48V 15Ah downtube lithium-ion battery pack.

The 750–1000W geared hub motor uses an internal 5:1 planetary reduction and a clutch. The clutch provides zero drag when pedaling without motor power, while the geared design delivers stronger hill-climbing ability, high efficiency, and excellent low-speed control. The motor is smaller and lighter than a direct-drive equivalent, improving handling and stealth.
Who’s it for? Riders who want a powerful, torque-rich, fat-tire tadpole build with off-road flexibility and responsive performance. Total recommended system load: 300 lb.

Installation
The Fat-Tad system installs using standard bike tools and is designed for compatibility with Sun Fat-Tad rear dropout spacing.

- Controller, LCD, and wiring use matched connectors
- PAS sensor mounts at the crank
- Parking-lock brake levers replace stock brake levers
- Torque arms must be installed and axle nuts torqued correctly
- Battery must be mounted securely to the frame
- Optional Topeak bar extender (not included) can improve LCD placement
